A Walk on the Wildside
A sixteen night itinerary, involving a walking tour in the Himalayan foothills, game drives in search of tiger and a luxurious final stay in order to refresh and rejuvenate body and mind.

| Day 01 |
Depart London for Delhi, with Virgin Airlines. |

| Day 02 |
Arrive Delhi. You will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel. |

| Day 03 |
You will be met at your hotel by your guide, who will escort you on a sightseeing tour of Old and New Delhi. |

| Day 04 |
You will be met at your hotel and transferred to Agra. |

| Day 05 |
You will be met at your hotel and escorted on a dawn visit of the Taj Mahal. This is the best time to see the Taj, as the hues of the rising sun are reflected by the white marble and there are fewer visitors disturbing the tranquillity.
After visiting the Taj, you will be escorted on a sightseeing tour of Agra before being transferred to the railway station for your overnight train to Shakti. |

| Day 06 - 07 |
You will be met at the railway station and transferred to the lodge, where you will spend the night. |

| Day 07 |
You will be met by your guide and porters to begin the Shakti Village Walk.
Almora - Deora (5.5 Hours, predominantly downhill) The first day of the village walk is a gentle introduction. Following meandering streams through valleys, you will catch sight of fabulous waterfalls and people at work in the terraced fields. The walk will finish at the village of Deora where you will spend the night in a renovated village house. |

| Day 08 |
Deora - Alai (5 hours, relatively flat) During the day you will pass the traditional flourmills of the region and witness a demonstration of how they operate. Stopping en route for explanations of the medicinal purposes of local flora, you will arrive in Alai in time to watch and assist the porters preparing the dinner. The night is spent in a traditional village house. |

| Day 09 |
Alai - Jawalbanj (6 hours, predominantly downhill) The first part of todays walk will take you through a canyon and forest, crossing streams as you go. The final section takes you to an altitude of 2200m, offering fabulous views of Himalayan peaks such as Nanda Devi. In the evening, after enjoying drinks in the beautiful rose garden, the local dancers will perform a traditional Kumaon dance - a rare spectacle enjoyed by both locals and visitors, especially the children. |

| Day 10 |
Jawalanj - Leti (2 hours, predominantly downhill, then slight incline) On the final day, with the peaks in view, you set off on a gentle pace through cedar forests. A visit to the Jageshwar temple complex, built between the 8th and 12th centuries, provides further insight into the history of the region.
In the afternoon you will be transferred by road to Leti, a scenic drive of approximately 5 hours. On arrival in Leti, there is a 1 hour walk to the camp. |

| Day 11 & 12 |
Explore the surrounding countryside with a picnic or simply relax and enjoy the serene ambience. |

| Day 13 |
You will be met at your hotel and transferred by road to Corbett"s Park, a journey of approximately 4 hours, arriving in time for an evening game drive. |

| Day 14 |
You will be escorted on a morning and an evening game drive. |

| Day 15 |
After a mornings game drive, you will be transferred by road to Rishikesh, a drive of approximately 5 hours. |

| Day 17 |
You will be met at your hotel and transferred to the railways station for your train to Delhi. On arrival you will be transferred to the airport in time to check in for your flight to London, with Virgin Airlines. |
