Bentota

This lovely beach resort is approximately half way between Galle and Colombo. It has long deserted beaches and a choice of water sports on the river. In Bentota, you can visit Brief Garden which was built by Geoffrey Bawa’s brother, Bewis. The village of Ambalangoda is just a short drive away and is well known for its antique shops and turtle hatcheries.
