Gangtok

Once a sleepy little town and considered very remote, the capital of the state of Sikkim is fast expanding towards the status of a city, where the bustle of busy market areas and busy thoroughfares contrasts sharply with quiet and serene spots. Places of interest in and around Gangtok include the Handicrafts and Handloom Industries, the Research Institute of Tibetology and the Orchid Sanctuary.
