Horton Plains National Park is the island’s highest and most isolated plateau (2130m). The landscape is reminiscent of Scottish moors and harbours a variety of wildlife including Sambhur deer and Macaque monkeys. There are some wonderful scenic walks with dramatic views, especially from World’s End which, in the right conditions, gives the impression of being on the edge of the world.
