Java Moon, Bolgoda

Set in large, lush, tropical gardens overlooking Bolgoda Lake, this delightful, privately owned villa is a haven of tranquillity. It is beautifully designed, delightfully cool and decorated with rich terracotta colours and gorgeous, traditional wooden furniture. Outside the bedroom, extending from the veranda into the gardens is a lovely pool. There is also a small jetty, from where you can watch the monkeys, monitor lizards and fishermen or just enjoy the sunset. Max and Gwen, who look after the villa and whose quarters are at a discreet distance, are a charming couple and a mine of local information.
