Kandalama, Dambulla

This is a large hotel designed by Sri Lanka’s most famous architect Geoffrey Bawa. Nestled against the cliffs of a huge granite outcrop, overlooking a large ancient manmade lake, open views extend for miles around and can be enjoyed from the roof gardens and bedrooms (all with balconies). The swimming pools are lovely, particularly the infinity pool overlooking the lake.
