Fifteen nights touring "essential" northern India in grand style, starting at a delightful retreat just outside Delhi. After gazing at the "Far Pavilions" of the Himalayas, marvelling at the Taj Mahal and listening to the night sounds of the jungle in Ranthambore National Park, climb the mighty forts and palaces of Rajasthan.

Depart London Heathrow for Delhi with British Airways. |

| Day 02 |
Early Morning: Arrive Delhi. You will be met at the airport and transferred to Gurgaon. |

| Day 02 |
You will be met by a guide who will escort you on a privately guided tour of Delhi. |

| Day 03 |
You will be transferred to the station in time to catch the train to Kalka and the toy train on to Shimla. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to Mashobra, up in the Himalayas. |

| Day 06 |
You will be transferred back to Kalka in time to catch the train back to Delhi.
Upon arrival in Delhi, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in the centre of the city.

| Day 07 |
You will be transferred to Agra by road. |

| Day 08 |
You will be met at your hotel and escorted on a dawn visit to the Taj Mahal. This is the best time to see the Taj, as the hues of the rising sun are reflected by the white marble and there are fewer visitors disturbing the tranquillity.
After breakfast, you will be met and accompanied on a privately guided tour of Agra. |

You will be transferred to Bharatpur, in time to catch the train to Sawai Madhopur. Here you will be met and transferred to your lodge. |

Morning and evening game drives into the park in search of the ellusive Panthera tigris tigris. |

| Day 12 |
You will be transferred up to Jaipur. |

Your guide will meet you in your hotel and escort you on a sightseeing tour of Jaipur. |

You will be transferred to the airport in time to check in for your flight to Udaipur.
