Mauritius Health Requirements

The following are our general recommendations to be used as a guide only. Please ensure that you consult your own doctor before travelling.

Recommended Vaccinations are hepatitis A, typhoid, polio and tetanus. Malaria is not present.

We recommend that you take an adequate supply of any special medication you require. The following are also advisable:

• Antiseptic wipes
• Antibacterial hand wash
• Soluble Painkillers
• Antihistamine cream or powder
• Anti-nausea or anti-sickness tablets
• Insect Repellants
• Crepe Bandage
• Plasters

The sun is one of the greatest health risks. High factor sunscreens and hats are recommended. When snorkelling it is advisable to wear a T-shirt. The heat can quickly lead to dehydration, so make sure you drink plenty of bottled water.
