Mauritius - When to Travel

The best months to visit Mauritius are May and November. The northern coastline shelters some lovely hideaways and tends to have the lowest rainfall on the island. The east coast can be windy during the winter months (June - October), however its long, white, sandy beaches and reefs are ideal during the hot summer months (December - April). Whilst cyclones are rare, if one occurs it will probably be between January and March. The south-west coast, including the Morne peninsula, is the main centre for game fishing and is sheltered during winter months. Tropical showers occur from time to time throughout the year.
