Réunion - When to Travel

October - March is the hot, wet season with the possibility of a cyclone or two and average temperatures of 28ºC on the coast and 18ºC in the mountains. April - September is cool and dry, 21ºC at the coast, 12ºC in the mountains. The south-east trade winds prevail which makes the east coast damper, while the west coast, protected by mountains, is generally drier.
