Sri Lanka - When to Travel

Sri Lanka is a year round destination with an average temperature of 27ºC in Colombo and on the coast. In the Hill Country, the temperature is about 10º cooler. The weather is at its best from late October to early April. Remember that even when the sky is overcast, the sun"s rays can be very harmful. It is important to ensure that you are adequately proteted by hats, dark glasses and high factor sun-screen. When snorkelling it is advisable to wear a T-shirt.
