Sunrise over the Ganges
A fortnight’s journey exploring the sacred river Ganges, the erotic temples of Khajuraho, Panna National Park, Orchha, The Taj Mahal and the tiny hamlet of Samode. Staying in a combination of Heritage properties and modern hotels, this itinerary shows a very different aspect of Indian life.

| Day 01 |
Depart London for Delhi, via Dubai, with Emirates. |

| Day 02 |
Arrive Delhi. You will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel in the centre of the city. In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to see some of the sights of Delhi, accompanied by your guide. |

| Day 03 |
You will be transferred to the airport in time to check in for your domestic flight to Varanasi. Here you will be met and transferred to your guesthouse on the banks of the Ganges. |

| Day 04 |
You will be taken on an early morning boat ride on the Ganges, followed by a guided walk through the narrow alleys of the old Varanasi city.
In the evening, you will be taken to see the Arti on the banks of the Ganges. This is a spectacular sight, where dozens of priests offer huge flaming lamps to the river, lighting it up with the glow. Offerings of lamps and flowers are made following this ceremony and it is a moving sight to watch hundreds of miniature lamps floating along this sacred river. |

| Day 06 |
You will be transferred to the airport in time to check in for your flight to Khajuraho. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. |

Day at leisure to explore Khajuraho and the surrounding area. |

| Day 09 |
You will be transferred by road to Jhansi, in time to catch the train to Agra. |

| Day 10 |
You will be met at your hotel and escorted on a dawn visit to the Taj Mahal. This is the best time to see the Taj, as the hues of the rising sun are reflected by the white marble and there are fewer visitors disturbing the tranquillity.
After breakfast, you will be transferred by road to the village of Samode, near Jaipur, visiting Fatehpur Sikri enroute. |

| Day 11 |
You will be met and accompanied on a privately guided tour of Jaipur and the surrounding area. |

| Day 12 |
Day at leisure to explore Jaipur further, do a little shopping, or to relax and enjoy the facilities of the hotel. |

| Day 13 |
You will have the morning at leisure. In the afternoon, you will be transferred back to Delhi in time to check in for your flight back to London. |

| Day 14 |
Early Morning: Depart Delhi for London, via Dubai, with Emirates. |
