Tea Trails, Nuwara Eliya

Hidden in a valley, surrounding the Castlereagh Reservoir are four exquisite bungalows that provide a glimpse into the elegant lifestyles of the early British tea planters. Guests are invited to move freely between the four houses, dining and relaxing at whichever they please. Visit a local tea factory or chat to the Tea Trails general manager, who as an ex-planter who knew the original inhabitants of the bungalows, will be only too happy to introduce you to the art of making Ceylon Tea.

The Castlereagh Bungalow has five large, classically elegant bedrooms, with wooden floors, high ceilings and large, Victorian style bathrooms. The dining room overlooks the croquet lawn, summerhouse and pool, whilst the sitting room leads out to the immaculate gardens that face the reservoir.

The Summerville Bungalow has four large, classically elegant bedrooms, with wooden floors, high ceilings and large, Victorian style bathrooms. The lounge / dining room has floor to ceiling windows overlooking the landscaped gardens leading down to the lake and the fireplace in one corner provides a cosy touch.
