| Day 03 - 04 |
Days at leisure to see some of the sights of Kandy and to enjoy golf at the Victoria Golf Course.
Set in the central mountains on the shore of the Victoria Reservoir, 20km from the city, this 18 hole, par 73 course opened in 1999. Designed by Donald Steel & Company, the T-shots and narrow fairways lined with coconut trees are challenging obstacles. The 3rd and 5th holes have wonderful panoramas over the reservoir.
The Elephant Orphanage is about an hours drive from Kandy and is a good chance for people to get up close and personal with a pachyderm. It is a good idea to go and have lunch by the river as after feeding, they are all brought down to bathe and to watch them from a vantage point with a cold drink is a pleasant experience.
In the evening, you will be taken to the Temple of the Tooth to see the blessing ceremony with all the fanfare, drums, trumpets and brightly coloured Monks performing their rituals.
You will also have the chance to visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, which were the naturally camouflaged operations HQ of SEAC Supreme Allied Commander, Lord Louis Mountbatten, during the Second World War and to see a cultural show whilst in Kandy. |

| Day 05 |
You will be met at the hotel and transferred to the station in time to catch the narrow gauge train to Nuwara Eliya. This is not the quickest route, but is by far the best way of doing this leg of your journey as the views are spectacular and the railway follows a different route to the often busy road. The driver will take your luggage and will meet you at the other end.

| Day 06 |
You will have the opportunity to play a round of golf at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club.
Dating back to 1891, this course is within walking distance of the town centre. At 1890m above sea level, at the base of Mount Pidurutalagala, this par 70, 18 hole course was laid out by the Gordon Highlanders stationed in the area. It is a challenging course, featuring fir-lined fairways, bunkers and a river and is acknowledged to be one of Asia’s best, fringed by forest cover and with a stunning view. |

| Day 07 |
You will be transferred to Lake Gregory where you will meet the air taxi that will transfer you to Koggala Lake. In addition to dramatically reducing journey time, this method of transport will allow you unparalleled, birds-eye views of the countryside.
Plane: Cessna Caravan (Amphibian) Route: Nuwara Eliya (Lake Gregory) to Koggala Lake Duration: 50 minutes
On arrival at Koggala, you will be met and transferred the short distance to Galle. |
| |
| Day 10 |
You will be transferred along the coastal road to Colombo. There are plenty of interesting shops along the way and if you look carefully, you can see them tapping the coconut trees that grow alongside the road for toddy – a highly intoxicating drink made from the fermented sap. |
| |
| Day 11 - 12 |
Days at leisure to enjoy sightseeing and golf at the Royal Colombo Golf Club.
Established in 1879, this 18 hole, par 71 championship course is the 4th oldest in the world. Several water hazards on 6 holes and the occasional train on the Kelani Valley line running through the course adds to its uniqueness. |
