The north-east monsoon blows between December and March, when it is hot and dry with occasional showers. A cooling breeze makes January - March a wonderful time to visit these islands. The south-west monsoon, from May - October, brings stronger winds, higher humidity and more rain. During the transitional periods between the north-east and the south-west monsoons, i.e in April and November, the water is at its clearest and calmest.
